I have been teaching children in international schools in Africa and Asia for two decades. After spending years as a science specialist and classroom teacher, I now enjoy spending my days encouraging creativity, perseverance, self-reflection and joy in young artists.
My learning goals are to keep up to speed with my techie husband and 12-year old daughter. I try to bring creative technology into my art studio and am having fun with our set of iPads. I publish and display student artwork through Twitter, Pinterest and Flickr sites. I am striving to bring more student-led inquiry and choice into my art studio, through 20% time, genius hour and passion projects. I’m also interested in incorporating Project Based Learning and STEAM into our curriculum, and find that I am on a constant learning journey.
When not teaching, I read voraciously, travel extensively, cook for friends and family, and enjoy trying out new art projects for myself and my students. I love design and decor, and am guilty of spending too much time on Pinterest, Facebook and Houzz.
